Early Years: Small Roles, Big Learning
Preethi’s family is Sindhi and from Gujarat, and she moved to Hyderabad to pursue cinema. Her first screen credit was as young Chitra in Gundello Godari (2013). At sixteen she played a blind girl in the short film Fidaa, and her TV debut was Pakkinti Ammayi. She then played the younger version of the lead in Malli Raava (2017), which brought her more offers.
Minnale: Learning a New Language on Camera
In 2018 she moved into Tamil television. Minnale began on Sun TV on 6 August 2018, and she played the lead, Shalini. Her TV credit runs from 2018 to 2020. The serial passed 200 episodes in April 2019. She has said in interviews that her love for Tamil helped her learn the language.
Pressure Cooker: First Film Lead
Pressure Cooker (2020) was her first lead role in a feature film. She played Anitha opposite Sai Ronak. Later Telugu work included A: Ad Infinitum and Seetimaarr (2021), and Dongalunnaru Jaagratha and Yashoda (2022).
Ayothi: The Turning Point
Ayothi released on 3 March 2023, directed by debutant Manthira Moorthy. A North Indian family visits Rameswaram on a pilgrimage, the mother dies in an accident, and her timid daughter and son are stranded without knowing the local language. Preethi plays the daughter, Shivani, with Sasikumar as the stranger who helps them.
